Press conference kicks off green program

Zimmer Real Estate Services Providing a needed service and generating new jobs, Zimmer Energy Solutions is a launching a new Low Income Weatherization Assistance Program (LIWAP) in Kansas City's Green Impact Zone. The program was officially launched on Monday, Oct. 11 at the Green Impact Zone offices.
The Green Impact Zone is a cooperative effort ...to focus federal stimulus funds on projects in a targeted area of Kansas City, Mo. - bounded by 39th St. on the north, 51st St. on the south, Troost Ave. on the west, and Prospect to 47th to Swope Parkway on the east. This particular program is managed by the Green Impact Zone and the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC). Zimmer Energy Solutions, a subsidiary of Kansas City-based Zimmer Real Estate Services, L.C., is serving as project administrator. The program is funded by a $4.5 million grant from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources' Division of Energy with a goal of weatherizing more than 650 homes in the area during an 18-month span. The program also has an equal goal of creating jobs and long-term employment opportunities for residents of the Zone. The LIWAP was officially launched Monday, Oct. 11 at the Green Impact Zone offices by U.S. Representative Emanuel Cleaver II (Fifth District - Missouri) and Kelvin Simmons, commissioner of the Missouri Office of Administration.
