Leavenworth, KS - Zimmer is acting as Master Developer for the City of Leavenworth, Kansas on a catalyst project identified from a Master Plan project. The Downtown/North Leavenworth Redevelopment Area Master Plan was created by Zimmer, Gould-Evans and the City. In 2010, the plan was honored with the Kansas Chapter of the American Planning Association's Pioneer Award. Currently, the City is acquiring land for an innovation and technology park to be developed across from the gate at Fort Leavenworth. The project includes a hotel and an incubator.
Truman Medical Center - Zimmer is representing Nate Accardo, owner of the Custom Color building in Kansas City, Missouri's Crossroads Arts District, for significant renovations and tenant improvement work Rau Construction Co. is performing the work at the 57,000 square-foot building, which has been leased to Truman Medical Center. Rau has completed demolition and is in the process of completing building permits to finish out the improvements.
Samuel U. Rodgers Community Health Center - With the exception of recent weather, work on the Samuel U. Rodgers Community Health Center near downtown Kansas City continues to move forward. The 60,000 square-foot facility is currently on schedule for completion at the close of 2011. Zimmer is serving as owner's representative for the development. Samuel Rodgers has contracted with JE Dunn Construction and Rafael Architects. Foundation work is complete and structural steel and metal deck work is underway. The team plans to start putting up the exterior skin in March and finish work beginning in May.
MainCor - Working as project manager for Main Street Corridor Development Corporation's streetscape project in downtown Kansas City. MainCor has finalized a contract with Greenleaf Construction, who will serve as the general contractor. Work is scheduled to begin on March 1.
Sporting Kansas City - Sporting Kansas City, formerly the Kansas City Wizards, is Kansas City's local Major League Soccer franchise. The team is currently developing its new multi-event stadium at the Village West tourism, entertainment and retail district in Wyandotte County, Kansas. Zimmer is continuing in its role as Master Developer of Village West and Owner's Representative for the Unified Government of Kansas City and Wyandotte County, Kansas for the stadium. Stadium work is on schedule for completion before the team's June 9 grand opening. Construction crews are finishing work on the main roof enclosure, finish work in the suites and concession areas are currently installing the video board, as well as other audio-visual elements throughout the stadium. Crews are also installing the underground drainage and irrigation systems in preparation for the field, which will be installed in mid-march.
National Security Campus - Work on what is currently Kansas City's largest development project continues for the NNSA/National Security Campus in south Kansas City. Zimmer, is serving as Owner's Representative for CenterPoint Zimmer, LLC, a subsidiary of CenterPoint Properties Trust. Site and infrastructure work is underway throughout the project and construction has started for some of the buildings. JE Dunn Construction is serving as the general contractor for the project and HNTB is the architect.
