Zimmer is a managing member of Columbus Park Developers, L.C., a joint venture of Urban Coeur, Kite Singleton, and Taliaferro & Browne Consulting Engineers for the development of a 360-unit housing and commercial development in Kansas City’s Columbus Park neighborhood.

The project includes market rate, for-sale, attached and detached single family housing, senior housing, an affordable housing component, community center, live/work units, and up to 30,000 square feet of commercial space.
The 20-acre site includes property that was owned by the Housing Authority of Kansas City and 13 private individuals, plus the Missouri Department of Transportation. Working with Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority, Columbus Park Developers is involved in determining the market interest; financial feasibility; and availability and cost of acquisition. Zimmer is also leading the development of a master plan and design standards that are supported by the existing neighborhood.
Pre-development and acquisition activities are completed and Columbus Park Developers has finalized a redevelopment plan using certain public incentives. Total project costs are approximately $90 million.
The project team also includes Gastinger Walker Harden Architects and City Builders as construction manager.
