Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) was developed to evaluate environmental performance from a “whole building” perspective over a building’s life cycle, providing a definitive standard of what constitutes a “green” building.  The project also meets the standards of Energy Star, the EPA-sponsored design criteria for energy efficient commercial buildings.  ECOWORKS was the 23rd building in the entire United States to be LEED certified.

ECOWORKS is comprised of two buildings totaling 130,000 square feet of Class A, multi-tenant office space designed for companies requiring heavy electrical and communications capability.  To counterbalance the heavier impact of these operations on the environment, ECOWORKS incorporates leading edge mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems; energy efficient exterior wall and roof design; natural landscaping; and use of recycled materials to reduce the impact of the project on the environment.  The project also incorporates the use of wind power and solar power as alternative energy sources.
