Zimmer is currently serving as Owner’s Representative on behalf of the Unified Government for the Schlitterbahn Vacation Village project. The project will be constructed on a 300-acres, east of I-435 adjacent to Village West utilizing STAR Bond financing and equity provided by Schlitterbahn.
Project acquisition is scheduled to begin in March 2007; land closings in March 2007; construction beginning in early 2007, and completed as late as September 1, 2009. The overall schedule ranges from 33 to 44 months. Zimmer’s role is to track budgets, commitments, expenditures, supplier diversity/participation, payments, and retainage in the proper category, contract, and/or funding source as well as regular reporting to the Unified Government and other agencies. Zimmer is also responsible for the overview of use of approximately $225 million in STAR bonds. The Schlitterbahn Vacation Village will include: A Schlitterbahn Water Park with interconnected water canals. A man-made river walk of approximately 4,000 linear feet of pedestrian walkway and “for hire” boatriders. A marine park including indoor and outdoor exhibits featuring live marine life. Approximately 400,000 square feet of destination entertainment and retail shopping. Full service hotel, a “tree haus” resort and waterfront cabins. Pad site restaurants. |
