Joyce Murray has been a commercial sales and leasing agent specializing in office properties since 1979 and is a senior office-leasing specialist with Zimmer Real Estate Services.  A lifetime member of The Million Dollar Club of the Metropolitan Kansas City Board of Realtors and the Missouri Association of Realtors, she has consistently produced in excess of 10 million dollars of real estate sales and leases on an annual basis, and has been honored for production in excess of 27 million dollars in a single year.  She has represented Unum Insurance Company, The Ohio National Life Insurance Company and the Federal Reserve Bank in leasing Kansas City properties.  Joyce also handled the recently completed site assembly for the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City and the sale and leaseback of the 400,000 square-foot, historic Federal Reserve Building.  She has taught office leasing courses for Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA).

The following are highlights of Joyce’s career achievements:

  • First woman appointed as a permanent judge on the Jackson County Board of Tax Equalization
  • First woman to serve on the Board of Directors and Loan Committee of Merchants Bank.
  • First woman elected to serve as Chairperson of the Commercial Branch of the Metropolitan Kansas City Board of Realtors and as a Chairperson of the Community Services Committee for that board
In 1993, Governor Mel Carnahan appointed Joyce to the Missouri Housing Development Commission where she served as Vice Chairman of the Commission and Chairman of the Strategic Planning Committee.
