Rick Chamberlain joined Zimmer Real Estate Services, L.C. in 1991. As Vice President - Sales & Leasing, his primary responsibilities include office and industrial brokerage and project management. Rick markets properties for building owners, and is very active as a tenant/buyer representative for office and industrial clients throughout metropolitan Kansas City.
For more than 17 years, Rick served as Project Manager for the 300-acre Southlake Technology Park prior to its sale in 2008. As Project Manager, Rick’s responsibilities included marketing, leasing, development and asset management for 15 buildings totalling more than 925,000 square feet of office/technology space. This included the 129,000 square foot EcoWorks building, the first LEED® Certified (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) speculative office building developed in the United States. Rick worked closely with Zimmer’s property management staff and building engineers on tenant relations, tenant finish projects and park improvement projects. He was also responsible for administering the Southlake Property Owners Association.
Rick entered the commercial and industrial real estate development and brokerage business in 1985 with Trammell Crow Company in Kansas City. His responsibilities included project management, marketing, development and sales and leasing of industrial and office/warehouse facilities throughout metropolitan Kansas City. While at Trammell Crow he was involved in the development and marketing of eight industrial buildings totaling over 500,000 square feet, in conjunction with his overall responsibilities for the marketing and leasing of Trammell Crow’s 2.5 million square feet of industrial properties.
Rick has consistently been recognized as a multi-million dollar producer by the Kansas City Regional Association of Realtors, and received the Home Run Award in 2008. Since 1991, Rick has been involved in over 600 transactions averaging more than 10 million dollars per year in sales and leasing volume. Rick received the prestigious Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) designation in 2006, and in 2008, Rick was accredited as a LEED® professional.
