Continuing in its role as owner’s representative and project manager for the Unified Government of Wyandotte and Kansas City, Kansas for development in the Village West district, Zimmer is proud to be a part of one of the metropolitan area’s most visible projects — a new home for Major League Soccer’s Kansas City Wizards.
Site excavation for the 365,000 square-foot 18,000-seat soccer only stadium is complete and crews have begun erecting the structural steel. Foundations and interior seating walls are being installed around the lower level and field level. Site utilities, including electrical, water, sanitary sewer and storm sewers are also being installed.
“The work is on schedule and progressing well,” said Zimmer Vice President and project manager, Kirk Sherman, LEED AP. “We’re pleased with how things are going and are very excited about what this project means to the entire area. Now, if we could just help the Wizards get a few more wins under their belt!” |
