SkipRosenstock.jpg(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) Bolstering its growing and active Property and Facilities Management division, Zimmer Real Estate Services, L.C. has filled two management positions during the past month.

Skip Rosenstock, CPM, CCIM, a 25-year property management veteran took over as Director of Field Property Management on April 18. Rosenstock, who was previously Senior Property Manager at Briarcliff Realty, will take over for Zimmer Vice President Vern Walters, CPM, LEED AP, who is leading Zimmer's Property Management efforts for the new 1.5 million-square-foot National Security Campus in south Kansas City.

RussellStoverLighting-website.jpgWith an estimated ROI of less than two years, the parking garage lighting retrofit completed by Zimmer for one of its corporate clients was a really bright idea. The trend is retrofitting existing building lighting by replacing or updating existing with newer, more energy efficient options.  Zimmer has completed several similar retrofits for other local owners and the trend is catching on with property owners around the country.

This past fall, two of Zimmer's building engineers completed a lighting retrofit in one client's parking garage. Prior to the retrofit, the garage lights remained on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The garage also lacked enough emergency lighting.

For real estate lenders there is one dreaded "F" word - foreclosure. In just the first quarter of 2011, Zimmer has assumed management for three properties that have faced foreclosure.
