When Zimmer Vice Presidents Debora Field and Mary Riley-Cheek listed the office building at 8455 College Blvd. in Overland Park, KS for sale and began to conduct tour, the pair quickly came to the conclusion the south side of the building was in need of a face lift and hired an architect to design a new facade. The decision paid off as the two were quickly rewarded when a prospect represented by Debora and Devin Schuster decided to take a second look after seeing the new design. An offer was made and after some negotiation, a deal was struck.
The building, which had been on the market for three years before Zimmer took on the listing, was purchased by Continental Title after six months of marketing by the Zimmer team. |

Missouri Development Finance Board seeks to reverse blight
The Missouri Development Finance Board has approved a $4.3 million tax credit for the City of Kansas City, Mo., to assist in redevelopment and blight removal of a portion of the Beacon Hill neighborhood.
Hugh Zimmer, manager of Beacon Hill Developers, said redevelopment of the Beacon Hill area has been a priority of Kansas City, Mo., for the last 10 years. Beacon Hill Developers, the city's designated master developer for the area, is an entity comprised of Zimmer Real Estate Services, Dunn Realty, Inc., and Taliaferro & Browne Real Estate.
The MDFB grant is designed to assist the potential development of a student housing project near the University of Missouri - Kansas City Hospital Hill Campus, which may be located on the potential site at the southeast corner of 24th Street and Troost Avenue. The University of Missouri System is continuing to evaluate the project, and any involvement by UMKC or the UM System must follow its approval process, including approval by the Board of Curators.
