Corporate Services team managing aggressive expansion plan

tmfs_web.jpgAn aggressive plan often calls for a methodical solution. Such is the case with The Mutual Fund Store, which set its sites on adding 18 new locations throughout the country during the past 24 months.

The Kansas City-based investment firm has turned to Zimmer Real Estate Services’ Corporate Services team to manage this plan which included adding locations from New York to California. The Zimmer team provides site selection, lease negotiation and lease tracking services to the company.

Zimmer’s success in this type of corporate services work stems from blending proven statistical and objective approaches with the subjective and personal market knowledge of local real estate professionals.

john_strharsky.jpgJohn Strharsky began his career in property management in 1986 and joined Zimmer's property management division in December 2002. He is responsible for a portfolio of approximately 1,000,000 square feet with a mix of commercial office and industrial property.

During his career, John has managed more than $100 million in construction and renovation projects. As an owner representative and project manager, John has been responsible for a wide range of property management functions that include leasing, tenant relations, budgeting, collections, finance, contracting, planning, zoning and construction management. Prior to joining Zimmer, John managed properties for two major healthcare organizations, Truman Medical Center and Olathe Medical Center. As Director of Engineering at Truman Medical Center, John managed a healthcare complex located in downtown Kansas City containing more than one million square feet of buildings on 17 acres of property. Responsibilities included management of plant operations, maintenance, safety, space planning, design and construction project management. John became Corporate Director of Facilities Management for Olathe Medical Center in June, 1997. He managed a portfolio of 200 acres of property, two hospitals, 15 clinics, three office buildings and parking facilities. Responsibilities involved oversight of property management, strategic planning, construction project management, contract administration and tenant services. John successfully managed the construction of several medical clinics and a $30 million hospital expansion project.
